Ron Davis selected permanent Burbank city manager

Ron Davis selected permanent city manager. Burbank  Mayor, Jess Talamantes, made the announcement about the elevation of Davis at last night’s council meeting. Talamantes says the action was taken earlier in the day during a closed session: “The city council unanimously selected Mr. Davis to be our permanent city manager. The council will consider an employment agreement for Mr. Davis during next Tuesday’s council meeting.” The council gave the new city manager a round of applause. Many in the audience joined in. Public input needed in search for new city manager

Burbank is looking for a new city manager. Burbank Water and Power head honcho, Ron Davis, is holding down the position for the interim. Davis has expressed interest in the job permanently, according to a report in the Burbank Leader last month. It should not be a done deal. At least outwardly, city officials are going through the motions of mounting a serious search for a city manager and are asking for public input. BWP’s Ron Davis new interim Burbank City Manager

City Buzz: Burbank City Council moves to clean-up “police mess”

The Burbank City Council took a dramatic and pivotal step  this week toward cleaning up the infamous “police mess.” On Tuesday during the city council meeting, City Attorney, Amy Albano, reported out on discussions and actions taken during closed session. A new Burbank city manager selected

Burbank has a new city manager. It happened tonight during a closed door session of the Burbank City Council. Council members selected Mark Scott, presently the city manager up in Fresno. Scott reportedly has held that position since April of 2010. The announcement came in a news release from City Hall a short while ago. On her first day as the consultant hired to search for a permanent city manager for Burbank,  Bobbi Peckham got right down to business. Last Tuesday, February 19, Peckham conducted two public forums to gather input on what are the “qualities and experience” most needed for a candidate to be able to successfully handle the duties of a city manager in Burbank — a small city with “complex issues” and diverse community. Burbank fills city manager position with two candidates

In a surprise move, the Burbank City Council went outside City Hall for the selection of an interim city manager. Ken Pulskamp, the city manager of Santa Clarita, has agreed to take on that position. Pulskamp announced his retirement in August and his last day there will be November 30. Pulskamp has more than 30 years in city government.
