The 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade is now one for the history books. Millions around the globe watched the 128th edition of that parade. Spectators get close up view of award-winning Burbank Rose float

If you want to get a close up look at the 2015 award-winning Burbank Rose Parade float, you need do it pretty soon. “Jungle Rescue”  picked up the Past President’s Award on New Year’s Day  for most creative design and use of both floral and non-floral materials. Hundreds of volunteers spent a lot of hours working on the float. Among them, 8 year-old Andrew Podbelski who was at the float viewing at Glenoaks Boulevard and  Olive Avenue yesterday. Burbank float “Jungle Rescue” wins award in 2015 Rose Parade

Burbank Tournament of Roses Association has much to cheer about on this New Year’s Day. For the sixth straight year, the Burbank Rose Parade float has won an award. Burbank’s 2015  parade entry is “Jungle Rescue,” which pays homage to volunteer firefighters in an animated scene about a group of monkeys who fight to put out a fire in a bird house. “Jungle Rescue” won the Past Presidents’ trophy for most creative design and use of both floral and non-floral materials. The Burbank Rose float 2014 is on display this weekend at the parking lot across from the Burbank Central Library North Glenoaks Boulevard and Olive Avenue. “Lights… Camera … Action!” won the Fantasy trophy at the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day. Repeat! Burbank Rose Parade float wins Fantasy trophy

A spectacular event in Pasadena today as the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade thrilled millions on T.V. and on city streets.  At least a million fans reportedly lined the parade route to see energetic marching bands, gleaming vintage vehicles, high-stepping equestrian units and of course, beautifully decorated floats. More volunteers needed for Burbank Rose Parade float

Burbank Rose Parade float preparations kick into high gear today and more volunteers are needed. Yesterday, I spent some time at the float barn, 123 West Olive Avenue in Burbank, watching the volunteers work their magic. I followed two volunteers, Connie Weir and Virginia Meyers, as they meticulously decorated a recreation of a Victrola record player — produced during the early part of the 20th Century by The Victor Talking Machine Company. The winner of the fantasy trophy for outstanding display of animation and imagination at the 124th Rose Parade on New Year’s Day has wrapped up a final showing in Burbank. Burbank’s float, “Deep Sea Adventures,” built by volunteers, drew crowds to the parking lot at Glenoaks Boulevard and Olive Avenue from January 3-7. Check out a winner up close. The Burbank float, “Deep Sea Adventures,” grabbed the judges attention and won the fantasy trophy at the 124th Rose Parade yesterday. “Deep Sea Adventures” will be on display in the Burbank Central Library parking lot, Glenoaks Boulevard and Olive Avenue, starting tomorrow January 3 at 9 a.m. Food trucks on site at lunch time.
