Gas prices take a dip for Labor Day weekend

As the long Labor Day weekend approaches, prices at the gas pump are taking a dive. Yeah, gas prices are down across the country including right here in Burbank. Some of the cheapest gas in the Media City is at Kwik Serv Gasoline at Victory Boulevard and Hollywood Way. At this station regular is selling for $3.25 per gallon. The […]

Gasoline prices dropping in Burbank

Gasoline prices are dropping at the pumps all over Burbank and elsewhere.  The AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report says the national average is $3.086 a gallon for regular. That’s the lowest it’s been since early 2011. Gas prices are not quite that low in the Media City — but they might get there soon. Today, I joined a crowd of motorists […]

Millions hitting the road for Thanksgiving holiday as gas prices rise

If you’re hitting the road for the long Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, you are not alone. The Automobile Club says 43.4 million of us will be traveling during this time — and nearly 90 percent will be doing so on the roads and highways. The busiest day for any kind of  Thanksgiving travel is today, the day before Turkey Day. Meanwhile, […]

Photo Gallery: Getting charged up

Why wait at a gas station to pay those high pump prices? If you’ve got one of these Toyota Prius plug-ins,  like this Burbank resident over on Griffith Park Drive, you can charge up your wheels right in your own driveway. When the battery is fully charged, you can crank up your ride and run on electric power. Meanwhile, at […]

Regular gas drops below $4 a gallon in Burbank

Just before the long Easter holiday weekend, gas prices dipped in Burbank. Today I bought $20 worth of regular gas at the Arco station at Lake Street and Alameda Avenue in B-town. The price: $3.99 a gallon. Okay, it’s not the serious tumble we would like — but hopefully, this is the beginning of a major drop in gas prices. […]

Gas selling for under $4 a gallon in Burbank!

After flirting with the $5 a gallon milestone , self-serve regular is back to being under $4 a gallon at some pump stations in Burbank. Yesterday, I gassed-up at the Shell station at Buena Vista Street and Magnolia Boulevard for $3.89 a gallon for self-serve regular. Back in early October, the price soared to 4.60 a gallon and above for […]

Gas prices heading up for Labor Day weekend, consumers blame oil companies

Gasoline prices are on a roll again — upward!  As the long Labor Day weekend approaches, prices at the pumps continue to creep up. Today the national average for a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.75, according to the AAA Fuel Gauge Report. As usual, prices are higher in California.  Today the state and the Los Angeles/Long Beach (including Burbank) […]

Regular gas under $4 a gallon in Burbank!

Some relief for consumers at the pump. Over the past few weeks, gasoline prices have been steadily declining and have now dipped below the $4 a gallon for regular mark in the Media City.  In some places here regular gas is now selling for between $3.90 to $3.99 a gallon. Today the average price for that grade of gas in […]

Labor Day weekend gas prices not bad

Okay, we’re not seeing self-serve regular for $2 a gallon — but under $4 a gallon is still a good buy. A short while ago, regular gasoline at the pump appeared to be headed for the $5 a gallon mark. The national average for regular today is $3.6, according to triple A.  However, on Labor Day weekend last year the average price was $2.6 […]
