Kensington Place today tweeted out the first official photos to be released of Prince George and new arrival Princess Charlotte. The very cute pictures reportedly were taken by their mother,  Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge ,in mid-May at Anmer Hall, the family home in Norfolk, England. President Obama calls on the FCC to keep Internet “free and open”

Today President Barak Obama joined millions of users in support of keeping the Internet “free and open.” President Obama called on the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to protect the principles of  net neutrality and not let Internet providers “…block or limit your access to a website” or allow cable companies to “decide which online stores you can shop at or which streaming service you can use.” Also, Obama says the agency “… can’t allow any company to pay for priority over its competitors.” The president says these... Facebook makes another multi-million dollar purchase

Facebook continues its buying spree with another multi-million dollar purchase. eBay hacked

Internet giant, eBay, is the latest victim of a massive cyber attack. The global marketplace company posted an announcement on its website today “…  asking all eBay users (both buyers and sellers) to change their passwords…” There reportedly are 145 million eBay users worldwide. The security breach apparently occurred sometime between “late February and early March” of 2014, but only detected two weeks ago, according to Forbes.   Get ready. Netflix price hike is coming soon. The on-demand video streaming company plans to increase monthly rates as much as two dollars “later this quarter for new members only.” Current subscribers’ rates will remain the same for a” generous time period,” but they will be going up. The announcement was made  in a letter to shareholders released today. In the U.S., Netflix has nearly 36 million subscribes who pay around $7.99 a month. Facebook reportedly buying drone company for $60 million

The social media network with the deep pockets, Facebook,  seems to be on a buying spree. Last month, Facebook bought the mobile messaging service, WhatsApp,for $19 billion. There’s now  a lot of chatter on the Internet about Facebook negotiating to buy New Mexico-based, Titan Aerospace, for $60 million, according to TechCrunch. “Grown Ups 2” opens with poor reviews and better than expected performance

“Grown Ups 2” is apparently not for the mature nor anyone looking for anything but a weak story filled with bad jokes. The film is getting slammed by many reviewers including Claudia Puig over on USA Today. The first “Grown Ups” earned $162 million at the box office back in 2010. Despite the bad reviews, apparently a lot of moviegoers still want to see the sequel. Weekend box office: Monsters are beating the Zombies

  The weekend box office is all about the monsters and the zombies. The battle is between the new Disney animation, “Monsters University” and Brad Pitt’s new zombie action flick, “World War Z.” And the monsters are winning. Disney expansion project clears major hurdle

Another major studio expansion project is working its way through the political process. Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch revamp was approved by the Los Angeles Regional Planning Commission yesterday. Last April, NBCUniversal got the go ahead from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for its  $1.6 billion 25-year Evolution Plan, which the studio says will generate 30,000 jobs. Two more sequels for “The Amazing Spider-Man”

Sony Pictures made a big announcement  today about one of its biggest franchises, Spider-Man. Last year, “The Amazing Spider-Man” earned more than $750 million worldwide. A sequel is in  production in New York right now and is due out next May. A news release from Sony Pictures revealed the dates for two more sequels in June 2016 and May 2018. Details on Deadline.

  The new Superman movie lands in U.S. theaters tomorrow and it’s the hottest ticket this weekend. “Man of Steel” advance ticket sells were soaring high — in the number one spot — as of last Tuesday at Fandango, the popular movie site on the web. A sad day for the Walt Disney Company and fans, family, and friends of Annette Funicello. The former Mouseketeer of The famous 1950s “Mickey Mouse Club” TV show died today of complications of multiple Sclerosis — a disease Funicello had battled for more than 25 years.  The actress/singer, who was know as well for those 1960s “Beach Party” movies, reportedly passed away peacefully at a hospital in Bakersfield.
