Los Angeles Sparks fans have plenty to cheer about today. At a Staples Center news conference in Downtown Los Angeles this morning, the official announcement of a deal for a local investment group led by former-NBA superstar, Magic Johnson, and a major owner of the Dodgers, Mark Walter, to buy the Los Angeles Sparks. Since early last month, fans of the Los Angeles Sparks have been waiting, petitioning,  and praying for a Southland miracle to rescue the team from limbo. An online petition to keep the Los Angeles Sparks in the Southland has collected more than 800 names. The petition was started by loyal Sparks fans, Chris Woodmansee and Callan McClurg.
