National Night Out a big success in Burbank

A big turnout for the Burbank Police sponsored National Night Out 2022.  The event began at 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday, Aug. 2, when the temperature was still above 80 degrees.  Despite the heat they came, some pushing strollers with dogs on leashes and kids in tow.  Burbank PD estimates the crowd at around 750. National Night Out returns to Chandler Bikeway in Burbank

National Night Out returns to the popular Chandler Walk/Bike Path in Burbank tonight. The annual nationwide celebration promotes neighborhood camaraderie and strives to strengthen the ties between law enforcement and the community. In the past, National Night Out has drawn crowds to the Chandler Bike Path. However in 2014, the event was moved to the parking lot of the Burbank Police headquarters. Some thoughts on Nat’l Night Out in Burbank

I dropped by a couple of National Night Out gatherings in Burbank last Tuesday and found them to be subdued and sparsely attended. My first stop was the primary event in the parking lot of Burbank Police headquarters on Third Street in the downtown area. At around 6:30 p.m.traffic on San Fernando Boulevard between East Olive Avenue and East Magnolia Boulevard was bumper to bumper,and the sidewalks were teeming with crowds enjoying the warm summer weather. Local National Night Out celebration moved to Burbank Police HDQ

Burbank is celebrating National Night Out tomorrow at a new location. Previously, this event has been held at the more scenic and people- friendly Chandler Bikeway in Magnolia Park. Now, for some reason, there has been a switch to the rear parking lot of Burbank Police Headquarters at 200 North Third Street. Burbank to participate in National Night Out event

The 29th annual National Night Out kicks off from coast to coast tonight. Burbank will take part in this crime and drug prevention event. This is how a Burbank Police news release described it: “National Night Out is a nationwide, one-night rally, where citizens and law enforcement join forces to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
