The announcement appeared in a news release from the City of Burbank put out on Thursday, May 27. A call for Burbank Police Chief, Scott LaChasse, to resign. It comes from Burbank Police Commissioner and Attorney, David Diamond. I have met with Diamond after receiving emails from him about his decision.  Diamond is adamant that the Chief should step down for a number reasons. Diamond is serving his first term on the Burbank Police Commission. He was appointed to the commission by the city council in 2015. Burbank Police Chief Scott LaChasse has health episode

Burbank Police Chief Scott LaChasse reportedly recovering today after suffering a health episode at an event in Glendale yesterday. LaChasse collapsed around noon while attending the Glendale Police Awards luncheon at the Hilton Hotel. Emergency personnel in the room rushed to his aid. A short time later, LaChasse regained consciousness, but was taken away to a nearby hospital. LaChasse has probably undergone a series of medical tests, however, the Burbank Police Department is saying very little about his condition. The Tom Angel email scandal is not on the city council meeting agenda tonight, but that does not mean the controversy and the issues sparked by it are dead in Burbank.
