Burbank Police investigating gang-related shooting

Burbank Police are investigating what they’re calling a gang-related shooting, which sent an 18 year-old male to the hospital. The victim was hit by gunfire on New Year’s Eve. It happened in the 200 block of West Verdugo Avenue at around 2:30 p.m. In a news release, Burbank PD spokesman, Sergeant Claudio Losacco said “Preliminary information is that a black sedan, occupied by two Hispanic males drove by, yelling gang related obscenities and shot at the victim and his friend.” The unidentified victim was rushed to the hospital... Tragedy in Silver Lake: Assemblyman Mike Gatto’s father gunned down

A tragedy in Silver Lake is resonating through Burbank, the Southland, and all the way to Sacramento. Assemblyman Mike Gatto’s father was found shot to death in his Silver Lake home last night. Today, a team of Los Angeles Police detectives, headed by the robbery-homicide division, reportedly searching the scene and the neighborhood surrounding 78-year-old Joseph Gatto’s home for clues, according to the L.A. UPDATED: Aftermath of deadly shooting spree in Santa Monica

  UPDATED: Sunday, June 9, 2013 3:38 p.m.  A fifth shooting spree victim has died bringing the total to six dead. Details here.   The FBI has joined the investigation into that deadly shooting rampage in the Southland coastal community of Santa Monica yesterday. Dodgers step up to help family of Arizona shooting victim

   The Los Angeles Dodgers announced some special arrangements today for the grieving family of  the youngest Arizona mass shooting victim, Christina Taylor Green. The 9-year-0ld nicknamed, “Princess,” by her father, is the daughter of Dodgers scout, John Green, and the granddaughter of Dallas Green, a major league executive who’s a former pitcher and manager as well.  When a gunman sprayed a political gathering with bullets last Saturday, young Christina was hit in the chest.
